As we embark on a new chapter of the Madera District Chamber of Commerce, I would like to thank Sally Bomprezzi for her hard work and dedication as chairman this past year.  I look forward to working with Debi, Cindy and our Board of Directors to keep our Chamber thriving and to continue to support our local businesses with seminars, grand openings and support programs for our members. 

In July, we celebrated our 2010 Senior Farmer, Johnny Deniz, with another exceptional dinner and awards program.  Johnny has been a long-time supporter of the community of Madera.  It is great to see the second and third generations of the Deniz family continuing the tradition of family farming.

This is a very exciting time for the Chamber as we have just wrapped up our Lifetime Achievement Awards Dinner.  It is not easy to pick only five recipients from the many great Chamber Members that we have.  This year, the deserving honorees were Bill Dawson, Dr. Duane Furman, Elvan and Eleanor Newcomb, Dim and Don Sambueso, and Don and Cathi Warnock.  Our memorial honoree was Jerry Venturi.  This was truly a great evening where we were able to celebrate the achievements of our honorees, and realize just how great the people of Madera are.  We have several ideas to make this evening even better in 2011.  You won’t want to miss it!

Next Thursday, September 9, Madera will have a small feature on KSEE-24 as they spend the week focusing on the many great aspects of our community.  The Madera Chamber is committed to working with our membership to help strengthen the local business economy.  We are exploring several programs that will add even more value to your Chamber membership (please get a glimpse by reading Debi’s message).  We hope to have these programs in place this fall.  Thank you for allowing me to serve as the Chairman of our Chamber of Commerce.
