BUSINESS AND EDUCATION... TOGETHER WE DO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!

Based on employer/business input and needs, the Madera Chamber of Commerce 'Business & Education Committee' sponsors events and supports programs reinforcing the link between business and education. Events and programs include America's Schools Recycling Program, New Educators Welcome Reception and Salute to Education, which includes the Retired Teachers Luncheon and the Salute to Education Reception and Awards Recognition event, and various other activities that supports local education.

Business and Education Committee Meetings... supporting the link between Business and Education… the Madera Chamber of Commerce Business & Education Committee meets on the second Monday of each month at Round Table Pizza, 1930 Howard Road, Suite 101 in Madera at 12:00 noon.  Meetings are productive and last one hour.  Not only will you have an opportunity to meet new people within the community, you will help to plan a variety of events that support a link between Business and Education. To be involved in this committee or for more information, contact Debi Bray or call (559) 673-3563.

THE NEW EDUCATORS WELCOME RECEPTION is an annual event held in August/September and is the longest running event in Chamber history. This is not only an opportunity for our business community to welcome the new educators for the Madera area; it is also a time to form partnerships, familiarize new teachers with Madera and the resources available to them. The Retired Educators Luncheon is hosted by the Madera Chamber of Commerce Business & Education Committee and honors the past educators in our community and is held in conjunction with the California Retired Teachers Association Madera Chapter.  The event is by invitation only and complimentary invitations are mailed to our Retired Educator guests.  Reservations are accepted for attendees that are not retired educators for a minimal cost.

The Salute to Education Reception and Awards Recognition event is hosted by the Madera Chamber of Commerce Business & Education Committee... the business community honors teachers for their outstanding efforts. In return the local education system honors those businesses that have continued to provide commitment and support to local schools.  This event is a celebration to recognize the Honorees for Distinguished Teachers of the Year, Business Supporters of the Year, Madera Unified Teachers Association “Friends of Education” and the Madera Chamber of Commerce Honor Roll Recipient.  This event is open to the public and there is no cost to attend; sponsorships are encouraged.
