CALTRANS ANNOUNCES SIGNAL PROJECT TO BEGIN NEXT WEEK AT AVENUE 12 & ROAD 29 IN MADERA VIEW DETAILED MAP Signal Project on Avenue 12 and Road 29, just West of the State Route 99 and Avenue 12 overcrossing will begin next week, Monday, May 5th thru June 2008. Motorists may be subject to up to 10-minute delays within the project limits. Flaggers will be conducting reversing lane control traffic operations as needed within this area in order to implement signal installation and roadway widening operations withing the project limits. The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announces beginning next week, construction of the Avenue 12 and Road 29 signal installation and roadway-widening project is scheduled to begin. This project will improve safety by installing traffic signals and widening the existing roadway within the project limits. Teichert Construction is the contractor. It is anticipated this $570,000 project will improve safety and traffic operations at the Avenue 12 and Road 29 intersection located within Madera County. In an effort to minimize traffic impacts to morning and afternoon commuters, lane closures or detours scheduled for this area will occur Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. only. No weekend work will occur. This improvement project will take approximately forty-five (45) working days to complete and is anticipated to be completed in June 2008. (Weather and contractor schedule permitting) The public will experience delays within these project limits during this time frame. Motorists are encouraged to use an alternate route whenever possible. Caltrans would like to thank the residents, businesses and commuters for their patience during this improvement project. The public is reminded to drive with extra care while traveling through this construction zone, adhere to all construction signage and be alert to all construction personnel.
