Centennial - Over 100 Years in Business... Jay Chapel

Then... R.C. Jay and his horse drawn hearse

Now... Jay Chapel Fleet
Since 1893, the Jay family has provided service to the families of Madera.  It all began when R.C. Jay made a coffin for an indigent woman who had died on the dole.  After seeing that no one wanted to provide a funeral service for the woman because she had no money, he stepped in and took care of the matter.  This act prompted Jay to go into the funeral business and he established Jay Chapel, which to this day, 114 years later, continues to operate.

Then... R. C. Jay and his wife

Now... Dan and Virginia Jay Whistler
Through a family tradition of compassionate service, Jay Chapel is the leader in providing unique and personalized funeral services to our families in Madera.  With our beautiful chapel, professional and highly skilled staff, we are able to deliver the best service to make the most difficult time in a family's life much easier.  As part of the community of Madera, the owners and staff reside locally and are dedicated to the highest quality of service to our families.
