Save the date for the 23rd Annual Sunrise Rotary 'Trees for Charity' event... Saturday, December 6th, 2008 - more details to follow

The Madera Sunrise Rotary hosts the annual 'Trees for Charity' Tree and Wreath Auction and Dinner Dance on the first Saturday in December to kickoff the holiday season... this event has become the unofficial opening of the Christmas Season in Madera. All proceeds from the auctioning of the trees and wreaths go directly to participating local charities and non-profit organizations. All proceeds from the dinner, dance, bar and raffle benefit the Madera Sunrise Rotary Club. If you need additional information about participating in this event or to purchase tickets, contact any Madera Sunrise Rotary member... the 2008 event will be held on Saturday, December 6th!

Sentimental Journey...
Take off with the Madera Chamber of Commerce on a Sentimental Journey around the world! Adorned with beautiful hand-crafted glass ornaments by artisans from around the globe, this landmark tree will create an international attraction wherever it lands. Proceeds from the tree will provide a passport to the future for our students in their educational endeavors through scholarship programs.

The Madera District Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and Staff would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support of our 2007 ‘Sentimental Journey’ Tree sold at Madera Sunrise Rotary’s 22nd Annual ‘Trees for Charity’ event.

This project was a very successful endeavor… an enormous ‘Thank You’ goes out to our generous supporters, Kevin and Diane Herman of The Specialty Crop Company who purchased our tree on the night of the event for $1500. Unfortunately our wreath did not sell, as the last bidder

opted not to purchase the wreath after the bids closed; the wreath now hangs in the Chamber office. After expenses and including the income from our Consortium Donors, the Chamber raised approximately $4,600 towards our scholarship and community programs.

In addition, the Chamber and Wal-Mart & Associates teamed up through a Community Grant, and donated an additional $100 to each Tree Donor and an additional $25.00 to each Wreath Donor at the Madera Sunrise Rotary event.
