ABOUT THE 2009 EVENT...
Simply Elegant
... this snow glistened tree was fashionably styled with silver, black, and white décor, with a touch of sparkling crystal - the perfect design to bring a touch of holiday class to your home or office.  Proceeds from this tree provided educational scholarships and supported Chamber community programs and projects for the local business community.

The project was a successful endeavor, and an enormous ‘Thank You’ goes out to, Chris Kragie, (Western Fresh Marketing) who purchased the tree on the night of the event for $1300 and Meri Batty who purchased the wreath for $55. We thank them for their support of the Chamber and our scholarship and  business community programs.  Additional thanks to Sally Bomprezzi, Debi Bray, Cindy Mindt, and Jennifer Moore for all that they did in making this project a success!!!

"A Scottish Christmas"... on Saturday, December 5th, 2009 Madera Sunrise Rotary celebrated their 24th Annual 'Trees for Charity Auction and Dinner Dance' at Hatfield Hall, Madera District Fairgrounds.  This event has been acknowledged as the beginning of the holiday season in Madera. It is an opportunity for community members to support their favorite non-profit or charity, have fun and promote the spirit of giving at the same time. Each year 14 beautifully decorated trees and many wreaths are donated by individuals and non-profit groups. They are auctioned off and the total amount of auction proceeds benefit their designated charities.

The event includes a no-host cocktail hour; a special filet-mignon dinner, prepared by the club’s renowned cooking crew;  silent auction of wreaths throughout the evening; live auction of trees; dancing and a raffle to win the special Christmas Tree prepared by the Madera Sunrise Rotary Club. The profits from the Dinner Dance event supports  the programs and services of the Club, locally and internationally. Tickets were $50.00 each and tables for 10 were available (seating was limited to 500 guests).  Tickets were available from any Sunrise Rotary Club member.
