The NEW EDUCATOR'S WELCOME RECEPTION is an annual event held in the fall and is the longest running event in Chamber history. This is not only an opportunity for our business community to welcome the new educators to the Madera area; it is also a time to form partnerships and to familiarize new educators with Madera and the resources available to them. Goodie bags filled with items donated from local businesses are presented to the new teachers at the conclusion of the event.

In 2008, there was no cost to attend the event as it was hosted by the Educational Employees Credit Union and Madera Chamber of Commerce Business and Education Committee; but attendees were requested to RSVP as space was limited.  Reservations were made through the Chamber Office; individuals could also make a donation to this event on behalf of 'Hosting a New Educator' for $12.00 per person.

There is no cost for our NEW EDUCATORS if they RSVP to their personal invitation from the Chamber of Commerce and their School Site.

The Business & Education Committee of the Madera Chamber of Commerce annually hosts this event to show our support to the teachers and administrators that are new to our local schools... we encourage Madera to give these new educators a warm welcome! Each year a variety of gift items such as pens, calendars, notepads, etc…are donated by local businesses to put in a goodie bag for each new educator. You may make a contribution to the goodie bag with an item representing your business…let them know what Madera has to offer! This event is an excellent opportunity for business and education to meet and create new partnerships. If you would like to be a sponsor for this event, donate items for the New Educators' Goodie Bags, or need additional information, please email Wendy Kennedy, Special Projects Coordinator or call her at the Madera Chamber of Commerce office (559) 673-3563
