OPERATION CIVIC PRIDE

This matching grant program is designed to provide schools, non-profit organizations or other neighborhood organizations, such as local service clubs, neighborhood associations, senior groups, church youth groups, Boy Scout and Girl Scout groups, school clubs and organizations, youth sports teams and Boosters clubs, FFA and 4-H clubs, the opportunity to actively take part in making Madera a more beautiful place in which to live, work, or visit. Projects must be within the City of Madera, with the exception of projects located at an entrance to the City that may be outside the actual city limits. APPROVED OPERATION CIVIC PRIDE PROJECTS Villa Gardening Service – Planting of South Gateway Drive Entry Project Madera Kiwanis Club – Wildflower Seeding on the Fresno River Trail and Bulb Planting Mountain Vista High School Students – 2006 Spring and Fall Planting of the E. Yosemite Avenue/Tozer Entry (Project 1) Madera Rotary Club – Rotary Monument Project at Rotary Park (Phase I) Church of God (7th Day) Youth Group – Planting of Two Flower Beds at Thomas Jefferson Middle School Madera High School ‘Hinton’s Historians’ – Military Service Memorial at Memorial Football Stadium U.C. Madera County Master Gardeners – Planting of 4000 Daffodil Bulbs at three city parks, city buildings & entrances, and businesses along Gateway and Yosemite Avenue Mountain Vista High School Students – Fall of 2007/Spring 2008 planting of East Yosemite Avenue/Tozer Entry project (Project 2) Madera Rotary Club – Mural Painting of Rotary Monument Project at Rotary Park & Landscaping (Phase II) Howard 4-H (Community Pride) – Planting of Community Garden on Lake Street Madera Sunrise Rotary Club – Tree Replacement Planting along the Vern McCullough Trail Madera Sunrise Rotary Club – Construction of entry sign and landscape improvements at Madera Sunrise Rotary Sports Complex Madera Coalition for Community Justice – Planting of community garden at 4th and Lake Street
